Like many aspiring actors, Nathan and Ruth Hale relocated from Salt Lake City to Southern California to pursue their movie career dreams. Shortly after arriving in Glendale during 1943, the couple immediately realized the only way to ensure getting acting gigs was to open and operate their own theater. In 1947, Nathan and Ruth rented a small building in Glendale and the Hale Centre Theatre became synonymous with first-rate musicals.
A first night audience of six guests did not deter the Hales and eventually, the theater grew to accommodate more than 110 patrons of the fine arts. Operating now as the Glendale Centre Theatre, the family operated venue hosts numerous well-known theatrical productions that appeal to guests staying at Holiday Inn Burbank.Details
