Let’s see what’s in store at Hollywood Bowl for the month of May.
On Sunday, May 6 at 8:00, Mexican singer Luis Miguel takes the stage at Hollywood Bowl. The internationally known Latin American musical artist has always created music that defies the beat and sound often associated with Latino music. Miguel can sing a wide variety of genres, including pop, bolero, mariachi, big band, and romantic ballads. His renditions of classic Latino romantic ballads are what melt the hearts of the millions of adoring fans that have followed Miguel’s highly successful career. Miguel puts an extraordinary amount of time preparing for each tour, and his 2018 visit to Hollywood Bowl should demonstrate his devotion to creating memorable music.
About a week after Miguel dazzles thousands of fans, Iranian sensation Googoosh plays Hollywood Bowl. The concert, which starts at 8:00 PM on Saturday, May 12, features a legendary singer whose career has left more than 60 years of memories in concert halls across the world. Starting as an actress in the 1960s, she starred in multiple blockbuster films and in 1968, Googoosh recorded her first album. Hailed as a political activist for refusing to follow the orders of the Iranian government, Googoosh spent the years between 1979 and 2000 under house arrest for violating the ban on women singers. After returning to the stage in the summer of 2000, she went on to headline concerts at venues such as Madison Square Garden and The Royal Albert Hall in London.
Paul Simon tickets are in such high demand that Hollywood Bowl has scheduled three concerts for the American legend on May 22, 23, and 28. Simon is known for mixing up playlists to keep crowds guessing, but you can expect plenty of songs from his partnership with Art Garfunkel and solo albums like the critical acclaim Graceland. Simon starts the 2018 Homeward Bound Tour on May 16, which means there will be tweaks to the sets he plays at Hollywood Bowl. Fans should see a potpourri of musical styles during each of the three concerts that kick off at 8:00 PM.
