St. Patrick’s Day around LA is always full of special events to celebrate one of the most popular traditions. With St. Patrick’s Day falling on a Saturday this year, many Southern California cities have decided to have the parade and the big bash on March 17. Where do we recommend our guests visit for drinking green beer and singing Irish folk songs?
We recommend two bustling parties that define St. Patrick Day celebrations in greater LA.
Hollywood Day Bar Crawl
You can’t beat a party that has the slogan of “You Make the Rules.” From 11 AM until 10 at night on March 17, Hollywood hosts the Day Bar Crawl. The self-guided pub crawl allows you to stay as long as you want in a watering hole that you especially like. Check-in between 11 AM and 4 PM at Cabo Cantina, where you receive a free welcome shot to get the festivities underway.
At Cabo, you also get a map and wristband to help you decide which of the bars to visit first. Each participating bar offers drink specials for everyone sporting the wristbands. The map tells you not only where each establishment is located, but what drinks will be offered as specials. More than 10 bars are participating in the Hollywood Day Pub Crawl, including Cabo Cantina, Outpost, The Room, and The Study. Expect the release of the full list of participating bars about a week before St. Patrick’s Day. Pub Crawlers must be at least 21 years old and present a valid government issued ID to participate in the Hollywood Day Pub Crawl.
With more than 100 beers on tap, the LA Biergarten is a popular downtown bar that patrons visit after work and before a game at nearby Staples Center. However, on Saturday, March 17, the LA Biergarten transforms into the gathering place for revelers who are more than ready for a pub crawl that takes them to 10 downtown venues.
When you arrive at the spacious LA Biergarten, you will receive a map that shows the exact locations of the participating bars, as well as drink coupons to use at each watering hole. Make memories of your festive day by shooting a photograph or two in the photo booth. Check in anytime between 1 PM and 9 PM at 750 S. Broadway Ave. in downtown LA. Complimentary entrance into several downtown Los Angeles nightclubs highlights the end of the pub crawl and the beginning of some serious dancing. Participating bars include Crocker Club, Spring Street, The Reserve, and Golden Gopher. LA Biergarten is running $4 specials on green beer, Guinness, and Jameson, as well as a $5 special for corned beef and cabbage.
Check with one of our customer service professionals to learn more about parking at each St. Patrick’s Day event. We can also offer advice on how to use public transportation to reach Hollywood and downtown Los Angeles. If you want to stay close to the hotel, Burbank offers several fun options for celebrating.
