Seeing Red: 70 Years of Ferrari
Running for a year starting in April of 2017, the Seeing Red: 70 Years of Ferrari exhibit captures the design and manufacturing process of one of the preeminent automakers in the world. The exhibit features the automotive highlights from the Italian car manufacturer’s 70 years of car design excellence. The models selected for the exhibition all present a bold red design that defines the celebrated automotive company. Enzo Ferrari founded the legendary brand in1947 and for 70 years, his vision of innovation and unsurpassed engineering has earned the automaker more than 5,000 open road races throughout the world.
America’s Most Beautiful Roadster Award Winners
The Customization Gallery inside of the Petersen Automotive Museum highlights the rapidly growing popularity of off-road racing by presenting America’s Most Beautiful Roadster Award Winners (AMBR). Featuring multiple vehicles that have won prestigious off-road racing events, the AMBR exhibit presents the history of hot rods that exemplify the evolution and diversity of off road vehicle design. The exhibition pays tribute to the museum’s founder, Robert E. Petersen, who founded the cutting edge Hot Rod magazine. AMBR opened in June of 2017 and the exhibit runs through April 15, 2018.
As a private, docent directed tour created for adult groups, the Highlight Tour presents an overview of the three Petersen Automotive Museum floors. Visitors learn about the most popular automotive exhibitions at the museum, as well as the vehicles that curators have put on display. At about 60 minutes, the tour takes you through the highly touted Hollywood Gallery on the history Floor, before ascending to the Mullin Grand Salon located on the Artistry Floor. Off-road aficionados will love stopping by the Hot Rods and Customs Exhibit located on the Industry Floor.
Available to join on a first come, first served basis, the Petersen Automotive Museum vault tours are open to the public for $20 per person. Vault tours take visitors to areas of the museum not accessible to visitors who view the exhibits on display at the ornate building. Docents offer historical perspectives of the artifacts presented during a vault tour. Tickets go fast and we recommend our guests visit the museum website at least one month in advance of a visit to book a reservation for a Vault tour
Admission price for the Petersen Automotive Museum is $15 for adults and $12 for both seniors and students who present valid IDs. Museum hours run from 10am until 6pm seven days a week. Located at 6060 Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, California, Petersen Automotive Museum is a short drive from Holiday Inn Burbank. Take US Route 134 west and eventually, the highway merges with US Route 101 heading south. Exit at N. Western Avenue and then travel to Wilshire Boulevard to reach the venerated automotive museum.
